Another one of my favorite pages, but I’m going to talk about something else again. Lym and Alessa are both in their late 20s in this build of the story. In the draft after this they were both aged down considerably to be in middle school, both to better fit the theme (which had become about growing up and perusing a career at that point) and so it would be more appropriate for Alessa to be so invested in a card game. The current version has aged them back up to their early 20’s as college students. This was again done to fit the central theme of the story, which this time is about the struggle of the artist between the aesthetic and commercial purpose of their work and the nature of the industry, particularly online. |
