Something I did to expedite these comics was to make a simple silhouette of goods on shelves for the background. I then changed the colors of that silhouette and the color of the background gradient for each strip. It’s a little lazy, but speed is something you need to consider when making comics in this fashion, plus, most of that background would be covered by text and characters anyway.
